The two things I keep predicting: Interest and Non-Linear Design. Pinterest is pushing (slightly) forward. pinterest.com
SEO Politics
I've noticed SEO places hiring people without HTML experience, training them on the fly and giving them a slew of clients. Very cottage industry. If you're a serious web developer, beware of the SEO Shop's quick buck schema--it's a waste of your time.
Point of Action Orientation in Design
Remember to incorporate content oriented 'point of action' into your design. If the homepage has an app, the Facebook like (since it is an action that involves point of click participation, should necessarily also be the point of focus. The web is conceptual, not based in HTML fixed layout, HTML5 itself solidifies this. Because of Tech like AJAX and related technologies that automate and debug code, by the way, Drupal 7 has a module just for testing to W3C compliance.

SEO Tip:
Make sure not to stuff a page full of keywords, and make sure that you rotate keywords via GA (Google Analytics) A/B testing per page, to hit search engine crawlers when they do actually visit.
Page Title SEO Control in Drupal
"Pagination Suffix: One of the things you may noticed about Drupal in terms of SEO is that whenever you go through a paged list of content, the page title never changes. Google Webmaster Tools will flag this up as a problem as you essentially have several different pages all being identified with the same page title. A new feature, introduced in Page Title 2.1, is the ability to append the page number as a suffix pattern. This means any URL which contains something like page=2 in the query string will also have an optional token pattern suffixed onto the end of it.
Automated Altruism
Consider that when you 'Like' or 'Share' someone, at least on platforms where people take their blogging seriously, you are telling them that they are effective enough for you to go in, if even for a skim, and actually thought their content of value. In turn, by modular inevitability, they will most often like or follow (share) one of your posts.
SEO Tip:
Put the same followers on multiple platforms i.e. Facebook, Wordpress, Twitter, so that they will see your posts multiple times throughout the day and be reminded of it. This is also good for search engines to be able to 'pull' more keywords from you.
Drupal Newbie Tip: Theming - Refresh all Caches:
Go to the theme layer if Drupal isn't recognizing styles.css, and hit refresh on the actual screen before clicking on a theme and it will many times then recognize styles.css You can also go to the left hand upper most part of the Drupal admin menu (if you have an auto menu) and hit "Flush All Caches."
